You know ".com.ng"? The very budget friendly domain name extension for nigerian content publishers. Hosting has its own drama. My first site died after 1 year, I was on a bad hosting company that caused my site a lot of downtime. But if all you want to do is start a blog, you can go with Google's free blogger.com it's always online and free and you can use your ".com.ng" domain with it.
Next thing is: "find a mentor". Yes don't wonder in the wilderness of tech alone. Would you rather spend hours looking for a pin inside a dark room or carry a flashlight and find the pin in less than 2 minutes? The tech world is like that too.
Finally, don't be a haste to make money. Be in a haste to do the right things that can help you to make money. Save money for your domain and hosting so that you can always renew them when due.
