what really happened to bolt browser?

Bolt browser used to be one of the most widely used browser in the days of java phones but then we stop hearing about it? where did bolt go? this question has been on my mind for some time but I will just say maybe it was discontinued (but bolt had way better features than rivals) so why? here is what I was able to dig from Wikipedia.

on 12/12/2011 bolt website changed to a page displaying this message

Dear BOLT User, The free BOLT mobile browsing service has been discontinued. Unfortunately, the economic circumstances prevent us from running a free service going forward.

for those that don't know bolt browser it was really powerful and fun to use. with bolt u can stream YouTube videos even on low end phones like Nokia 2626. here is a screenshot of bolt browser
